As a part of the KIS Enrichment Programme, an enthralling Group counseling session was
conducted on 12 May 2023 by Ms. Vanya Chadha, our School Counsellor (Grades 8-12)
for the students of Grade 10C, in order to make them aware of the concept of bullying.
She facilitated numerous activities with the students using exemplary situations and
detailed discussion on the notion of bullying, types of bullying, its impact on the victim as
well as the ways to prevent bullying.
Further, this session served as a perfect opportunity for the students to express their views
on bullying, and at the same time learn several ways to become an Upstander rather than a
Bystander in the situation.
Overall, it was an insightful experience for the students of Grade 10C.
MAJOR KEY LEARNING SHARED BY THE STUDENTS AFTER THE SESSION:
We should not bully anyone.
It may be a joke for you but can be harmful to others.
Do not bully or if you know someone getting bullied then report, it rather than being
a bystander.
Help people who are getting bullied.
I learned that we should be friendly with everyone and treat no one as inferior and
of course not bully anyone
Any witness, supporter, or enactor is a part of the group that bullies the person.
During the counseling session, I discovered that bullying can deeply hurt a
person’s feelings and make them feel very sad.
It may be fun for us may affect the other person deeply and can have serious
consequences.
Never bully someone.
Never bully or be bullied.
