Our trip to the new Parliament of India began, by boarding the buses and reaching the building. We were, then assembled in an auditorium. After this our tour around the parliament began. We were guided through multiple sections of the building.

Our first stop was the ‘Lok Sabha’ which was designed on the theme of a peacock’s feathers. We sat in one of the 6 main viewing galleries and learned about the working of the parliament. Next visit was to the ‘Rajya Sabha’ which was the same but smaller and designed based on the national flower, the lotus. From there we went over to the 3 art galleries put up for display.

Afterwards, we had an enjoyable lunch in the banquet hall and returned to the auditorium, where we witnessed a youth parliament session, gaining insights on how the debates take place. Before leaving we were also served high tea and snacks.

Finally, we boarded the buses and returned to school, where we were dispersed. Overall, the trip was very insightful and informative giving us a clear look at how the Parliament functions.
