Our visit to the new Parliament of India began with boarding the buses and reaching the grand building. Upon arrival, we were assembled in an auditorium, after which our guided tour of the Parliament commenced.
Our first stop was the Lok Sabha, beautifully designed on the theme of a peacock’s feathers. From one of the six main viewing galleries, we learned about the functioning of the Parliament. Next, we visited the Rajya Sabha, which, though smaller, was equally impressive, with its design inspired by the national flower, the lotus. Following this, we explored three art galleries that showcased remarkable displays.
Later, we enjoyed a delicious lunch in the banquet hall and returned to the auditorium to witness a Youth Parliament Session, which gave us valuable insights into the style of debates and discussions held there. Before departure, we were served high tea and snacks.
Finally, we boarded the buses back to school, bringing an end to a truly insightful and enriching experience, which gave us a deeper understanding of how the Parliament of India functions.
